Frank Feist is a former member of the German junior national team in nordic combined and the German student national team in XC skiing. Frank competed in hundreds of local and international XC ski races and ski jumping events in the 1980s. He still loves the sport and races occasionally with a preference for the classic technique. His focus in coaching is to teach time saving "tricks of the trade" such as downhill speed, transitions, taking advantage of terrain, and race tactics. His overall goal is to help young racers develop critical independent judgment and self-responsible attitude. Contact Frank
Bob Haydock is a certified Level II NENSA coach and has coached Bill Koch League skiers for ten years and junior skiers for four. Bob started ski and biathlon racing in the late 1970s. Some of his results include a 26th place at the 1984 Biathlon Olympic Trials, 26th place 1984 American Birkebeiner, and 1998 10 Km classical national age group champion. Bob also has a competitive running (2:33 marathon) and bike racing background. He maintains 12 km of trails in Pomfret Vermont where he holds the VOmax Bogburn ski race. He has been on the NENSA board of directors since its inception.

Alexandra Jospe (Alex) came to CSU after graduating from Colby in 2006, where her best finish was 9th at the Colby Carnival.  After graduating, she started ski-orienteering at an international level, placing 24th in her first World Championships.  This past year she won the Sugarloaf Marathon.  A NENSA-certified coach, Alex regularly attends technique clinics and training camps at a regional level, and has coached at NENSA Women's XC Ski Day for the past four years.  One of her primary goals in ski coaching is to bring the joy of skiing and the satisfaction of solid training to the next generation of skiers.  Alex is sponsored by Alpina Sports. In Bavaria there are two sports you cannot avoid: soccer and downhill skiing. So I played goal keeper and midfield and had to get down those snow covered hills and sometimes up them also.In my teens and early 20s worked as a downhill ski instructor and pursued karate.Coached a martial arts team (Karate) form age 17 to 25. Made it on a mountain Division Biathlon team in the German army and this was my first time on XC skis at 18.Competed on the German NATO reserve officers team until 28 in orienteering, swimming and military obstacle course racing. Taught rock & roll and aerobics  at the University of Regensburg for 2 years (lots of fun and very useful for balance). During Grad school (University of Regensburg, Germany & UC Boulder) ran long distance, orienteering. Also, learned how to mountaineer, whitewater kayak, rock climb and backcountry ski and worked as a backcountry ski guide
Moved to USA 15 years ago,  picked up sea kayaking and building my own equipment

10 years ago I started as a track and field/XC running coach with the Waltham track club, For the last 6+ years I worked as a coach with the EMAS Bill Koch ski group (some of you may know me from there). Just last year picked up surfing (really fun, but you drink a lot of water (salt water) in the beginning).
This is my first year coaching with CSU (lots of fun too).

My goal for this season is to support you with accomplishing your skiing goals and to enjoy skiing and working with young athletes.
